Hadleigh URC
Market Place, Hadleigh, IP7 5DL
The United Reformed Church is a national, mainstream Christian denomination with its roots in the Congregational and Presbyterian Churches. We worship one God, expressed in Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We commit ourselves to Jesus in our worship and by loving and caring for all without exception.
Here in Hadleigh we are part of Churches Together in Hadleigh and have good relationships with all the other Churches.
We meet every Sunday morning at 10.30am and worship in an informal, but reverent manner, balancing the best of traditional and modern worship. At the same time there are activities in Sunday Club for children and young people of all ages.
At other times of the week we meet for prayer, Bible Study and friendship. We are also very much involved in our community through the many activities that take place in our buildings, and especially through our links with the Ansell Community Centre.

Salvation Army Hadleigh (Suffolk) corps
The Salvation Army is an integral part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible; its motivation is the love of God as revealed in Jesus Christ. Its mission is to proclaim his gospel, to persuade people of all ages to become his disciples and to engage in a programme of practical concern for the needs of humanity. Its ministry is offered to all, regardless of race, creed, colour, age or sex.
The Salvation Army was founded in 1865 by William Booth, a Methodist minister, who saw that the church of the day was having little impact on the poor in society. He set out not only to preach the Good News of Jesus to them, but also to care for their physical needs such as shelter. Today The Salvation Army is at work in over 100 countries around the world, and is a growing movement.
We hope that you find one or more of our activities of interest; these and our worship services are conducted in a relaxed style combined with something to challenge our thinking. Our prayer is that you would find something of interest in our programme and one day you will pay us a visit and join us as we worship our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Regular Events

St Mary's Church, Hadleigh
Farewell to you all
That does sound sad – for me anyway. The time has come to say good-bye after about nine years serving as Rector to the parishes of St Mary’s Hadleigh, St Andrew’s Church, Layham and All Saints Church, Shelley, and I can truly say it has been a real privilege to do so. I would like to say thank you to the people of Hadleigh for the warmth of friendship I have been shown over this time and to say that it has been a great pleasure to serve this fine community as Rector and Dean. I feel I have made so many friends and I have often been stopped in the street or met people, including many young people, on various occasions and always found so much warmth and good will. I am very grateful for that and I wish the people of Hadleigh every blessing for the future. It has been a very busy time here yet there have been many good things to look back on with joy. It has been good to be involved with fellow Christians in all the local churches as we have grown together and supported one another. I am grateful to my fellow Church Ministers for their fellowship in the faith.
I would like to thank all the members of the three churches for which I have had responsibility. It has been a great joy to worship our loving God with you all. I am also very grateful for all the love and friendship, encouragement, prayers and support that you have given me over these nine years. It has been a real joy to serve you and to be there with you as we serve and support our community in Christ’s name.
I rejoice that in all three of our churches there is a real atmosphere of love, fellowship and team-work, with so many members willing to pitch in and take part. Inevitably there will be a short gap before my successor will be appointed and I hope the new Dean will enjoy the experience of serving Hadleigh as much as I have. Meanwhile the life and work of our churches will continue. As I prepare to say farewell on my last Sunday 27th July at 10.30am to which all are very welcome (plus picnic lunch, if you wish – or on the previous Sunday evening) I would like to thank you all so much for all the love and friendship, encouragement and support that you have given me. It has been a real joy to serve you.
May God bless you and keep you in his love, joy and peace.
